Globally, millions
of people are suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus due to their sedentary
lifestyle and unhealthy food habits. Around 460 million people are living with
diabetes which is expected to increase up to 700 million by 2045 (IDF, 2020). Millions
of people die every year due to complications caused by type 2 diabetes
mellitus. In the context of the present scenario, we have seen that people with a primary
infection such as diabetes, pulmonary diseases, cardiovascular diseases, etc, were
on the high risk of COVID-19 infection. The mortality rate of corona infected
patients was found much higher in these cases than patients without any primary
infection. As per the latest research, people with overweight and obesity are
at a high risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Once a person
gets diabetic, he/she will continuously have to take medicine/insulin throughout life. As per the statistics released by national and international
statutory organizations, approximately 374 million of people (IDF, 2020) are
on the pre-diabetic stage but they don’t know and slowly they are moving
towards irreparable losses caused by type 2 diabetes mellitus. If you really
want to check your drift towards diabetes then you must put yourself on an
active lifestyle with healthy food habits. Otherwise, the day will come that
your body becomes 
a reservoir of many diseases.
